Work on the Ho Sports Stadium to transform it into a modern facility is expected to begin by January or February 2017.
The
Minister for Youth and Sports Hon Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye announced this
today at Ho in an interview with journalists after a health walk led by
the Chief of staff Mr Julius Debrah and the Volta regional Minister Hon
Helen Adjoa Ntoso.
Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye said the contractor
for the project will begin feasibility studies on the project by next
week but could not tell how much it will cost.
He said President Mahama has given approval for the project.
According
to the minister, government had planned to construct a modern Stadium
for the people in the region at a different location but has now decided
to transfer the design for that project for the reconstruction of the
Ho Sports Stadium where they believe patronage by football fans will be
more encouraging.
