Former Chairman of Division One League Board of the Ghana Football
Association Lawyer Ntow Fianko indicated that lots of footballers will
lose their jobs if the government continues with its approach to
dissolve the FA following FIFA’s ultimatum on Monday.
FIFA has ordered government to withdraw its case in court to dissolve the Ghana Football Association.
Several Ghanaian clubs have broken camp after football activities in the country came to a halt over Anas expose’.
FIFA has issued a threat that government’s move to put all football
activities on hold contravenes with its status that frowns on undue
influence in football matters.
“I expected government to start the process of prosecuting individuals
who were captured in the video receiving bribes and leave the Ghana
Football Association as an institution. I think that is why FIFA has
threatened to ban Ghana,” he told Ghana Crusader Radio.
“FIFA has no issue with prosecuting individuals caught on camera in the
expose’. Its problem is about the direct interference into football
activities.
“Government needs to do the right thing, else about 6,000 Ghanaian
footballers, will lose their jobs if Ghana suffer a ban from FIFA.”
